Volume two in this series is all about our husbands and the boys in our lives! I Just Want to Be Alone is hilarious and perfect to read in those few and far between moments you DO actually get to BE alone (i.e. in the bathroom, maybe).

Don’t get us wrong, we love the men in our lives – we do (most of the time). It’s just that sometimes we would like them to go away. Not forever or anything like that. Just for an hour … or a day … or a weekend. We want some time to ourselves to read a good book or take a walk or do anything other than try to make a dent in the never ending mound of dirty clothes that keeps piling up on the floor on his side of the bed. We just want to be alone. All alone. Is that too much to ask?

I Just Want to Be Alone is a collection of humorous essays from 38 of the most Super Cool Lady Writers you’ll find on the web. Besides super-cool me, there are many favorites: People I Want To Punch In The ThroatMoms Who Drink and SwearBaby SideburnsA.K. TurnerMy Husband Ate All My Ice Cream, and Bad Parenting Moments.

Thank God for girlfriends and the bold, brave, hilarious honesty shared during visits to powder rooms!  That’s the concept behind this new anthology of original short stories from some of the wittiest women writers out there—stories they would only tell their closest friends, most likely from within the haven of a ladies’ room. Inside you’ll find 39 (mostly) true tales by women, for women, about being women but be forewarned: we’re holding nothing back. We’re revealing our deep dark secrets—because it’s through our most vulnerable and honest moments that we forge the strongest connections and discover we aren’t so alone after all. You have a gimpy boob? Me too. You think glitter is the herpes of the craft world? Me too! You got your fishnet-clad leg stuck to your head on stage in front of thousands of people? Wait…what? OMG. Tell me everything! We are your friends, sisters, mothers, and daughters. Regardless of what life has dished up for you, chances are, we’ve been there and we can relate. We’ll help you laugh it off, or hold your hand until you’re ready to laugh again. And we promise: we’ll always tell you when you have lipstick on your teeth.

  1. Just finished reading, “I Just Want To Pee Alone”, I absolutely loved the collection of stories so much! You are all very talented writers and I especially loved your story about raising boys after growing up all girls! “A stranger in the land of twigs & berries” is such a great title! This story was so heartfelt and I wanted every one of my friend’s who happen to be mothers of all boys to read it! Beautifully written! I wrote up a review on Amazon and I wish you all the best of luck! 🙂 Congratulations!!!

  2. Tangie says:

Just got it today…. Already laughing my ass off! Hilarious and I dont en have kids! Brilliant, funny Moms! Love it

    1. ashersmom says:

Tangie–this would make a FANTASTIC review on amazon, btw. Exactly the words you use above would let people know that they don’t need to have kids to enjoy reading it. If you have a minute, would you leave it there under either the paperback or kindle version of the book?
So so glad you like it and I appreciate your support more than you know!
