If things had gone differently, I probably would never have them done again. But as long as Stephen is available, I’m good to go. I’ll put my husband in charge of wardrobe next time though. ; )

Thanks, Brenna! I think he knows he was wrong about it now and that it was just a stress-related reaction but it still was pretty challenging to put on that happy face for the photos. Stephen really made a difference in that. I’m sure he would be pleased to hear that another wonderful photog agrees!

Put Gabe on the phone. Here’s what I have to tell him, as a photographer…I’ll wait.
T, you did the exact right thing and said just what I tell my clients: wear something in a color that flatters you and that YOU feel good in. Because if someone’s forcing you to wear a photo ‘uniform’ and you’re miserable, it’s going to show. What I love about these photos is that there’s one with garbage pails in it and one with a minivan in it and it doesn’t matter, because these are authentic. The genius who does our family photos (because sometimes I like to be IN them) has made my dirty house and our suburban neighborhood seem magical and beautiful with his talent, because he’s capturing a story, not a perfectly-tidied stage set. These are lovely. Well done.
