How To Create A Sucker Garden in One Easy Step

steps to create a sucker gardenThe best way to create a magic Sucker Garden for your kids is to have someone else do it for you.

On a visit to my in-laws, Asher’s Bimma (it stands for Big Momma, mmmkay?) handed him a clear plastic baggie of what looked like cupcake sprinkles one afternoon and had him strew them all over her lawn. Then she handed him her hose and had him judiciously water the “sucker seeds.”making a sucker garden

That night, while the kiddo was sleeping (and while I was lounging in the guest room reading a book), Bimma and Poppy snuck outside and stuck suckers in the ground all over their beautiful lawn.  Here’s the one “active” step I recommend that you take in this process — go to bed early because you’ll wanna be there with a camera in your hand bright and early the next morning — even if you’re totally lazy like me.

Voila!  The boy woke up to a magical Sucker Garden that appeared to have blossomed overnight — a lollipop-lovin’ kid’s field of dreams.  And all I had to do was smile.

  1. :-) Meyer will be old enough soon for me to place my order for another shipment of Sucker Seeds……big brother Ashe can teach him how to pick them!

  2. This is SO CUTE! Thankfully my kids are too old for the magic of a sucker garden because I am also way too lazy to do it.

  3. Oh my gosh, this is just TOO CUTE!! The only thing I’d be worried about is my kids sneaking into my sprinkles and thinking they were going to get a damned garden every time they spread them around the yard…and ain’t nobody got time for that. :) But seriously–such a cute idea!

  4. And everybody says kids are so removed from gardening and the food production process…

  5. This is such a cute idea! I love it!
